Brillia Tower Minoo-Semba TOP OF THE HILL, the new residential building in the city of Minoo, Osaka Prefecture, has opened, with the public space designed by Gwenael Nicolas, Curiosity.
Curiosity designed the grand entrance and the atrium lounge.
The design of the space portrays the academic, intellectual and artistic environment of the cityscape around the new station being updated by the regional development following the railway extension project for 50 years.
The welcoming entrance, as The Pedestrian Gate, gives residents and visitors a pleasant first impression with the generous space, as if the large park were inside the building.
The moment of refreshment and relief between the station and home is essential, to shift their minds from public to private.
The space, like the park inside, offers the refreshing feeling of walking through lush nature before arriving at the individual apartments, despite its convenient location next to the station.
The dynamic objects, with their iconic shape created by delicate strings, leave a memorable impression on both visitors and residents, becoming a symbol of the building, reminiscent of the city of textile.
The generous ceiling heights allowed the phenomenal symbols with stunning impressions, creating a relaxing space wrapped in comfort.
The soft veils are created by the carefully woven threads, which bring a comfortable view to the seating inside, as well as convey the beautiful proportions of the inner art pieces with subtle balance to the eyes of the outside.
The wooden louver wall side is connected to the residential area, which has a concierge counter with the washi paper art supplied by Wajue.
The inviting open circles face in different directions, carefully composed to create an intimate atmosphere that seems to welcome those coming from outside and those leaving the individual apartments.
As a natural element of the park, wood sculptures are placed inside, which brings the iconic view to the space through the veils, in front of the entrance to the residence area.
The unique proportion reveals a different perspective with a different aspect, which creates a pleasant discovery and triggers a sense of art.
The sculpture work is created by Kineta Kunimatsu.
The massive height of the atrium provides a stunning view from the upper entrance while creating luxurious comfort for the atrium lounge on the ground floor.
As descending the downstairs, the monumental lighting towers like giant Andon, further enhancing the scale of the space and welcoming the residents and visitors. The ceiling height is emphasized by the vertical andons, creating a luxurious space with comfortable views of the outdoor gardens and plenty of natural light.
The original artwork, a large 4.5m x 4.5m square of vibrant yellow oil-painting, created by Yoshio Ogawa and inspired by the sun, brings energy and strength to this atrium.
An inspiring space with a unique color combination in the library expresses the intelligence of the inhabitants; vibrant yellow for the brightness is accentuated by matte ink black reminiscent of the knowledge, made from subtly textured washi paper.
