The Pavilion Nicolas Ruinart opened its door on October 4th, 2024, located on the historic site of the Maison Ruinart in Reims.
This pavilion embodies the house’s delicate balance between heritage and innovation.

Gwenael Nicolas Curiosity, was invited to design the interior of the pavilion and imagine the visitors journey through a series of encounters that would unveil the metamorphosis of Ruinart.

ENTRANCE

Conceived as a mineral interior garden, the space unfolds with fluidity. Upon entry, guests are enveloped in Ruinart distinctive aesthetic - essential yet luminous and emotional.
The soaring, airy white stems frame an elegant perspective of the historic building, drawing the eye to its timeless architecture.

The visitors are guided in the space through a forest of stems that rise from the floor and become evanescent magically disappearing rising towards the ceiling.

In a play of hide and seek the different areas appear as you walk through the space, the poetic and slender features guide visitors through a journey from the reception to the boutique and a champagne bar.

BAR

At the heart of the space, a bar draws focus with its ethereal glass forms, reminiscent of champagne’s effervescence.
Petales of glass float over the glass counter, as if bubbles escape from the glass and froze in the air.

BAR

A play of transparency and lightness creates a festive yet refined ambience. The surface of the bar is made of glass, echoing the rich textures of the crayeres, and recalling the experience of the visit.

The bar extends outdoors to a spacious, curved terrace that melts into the landscape created by Christophe Gautrand, accentuated only by the champagne colors of the original furnishings.

DINING

At the rear, a private dining room hidden behind a curtain of woven silver thread mesh adds a touch of mystery and intimacy.

FURNITURE

The furniture, designed to wrap around you like a second skin, provides comfortable seating and ensures a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a flawless and warm ambience.

BOUTIQUE
BOUTIQUE

One side of the pavilion is dedicated to the discovery of the products, presented in a special way to highlight the uniqueness and character of the cuvées. The products are presented in a large wooden library like wall display, inviting the visitor to discover the variety of the offer.

BOUTIQUE

At the center of the boutique, a captivating "carousel"; a sculptural composition of (upside-down) champagne bottles that rise from the floor and reflect into infinity in the mirrored ceiling. A representation of tradition coming from the ground and leading to the future.

SALON

Carefully hidden behind the carousel, the alcoves welcome the visitors, a series of private rooms where the visit of the Château begins with an introduction to Ruinart, its history and a tasting of champagne.

WINDOW

More than just a new destination, The Pavilion Nicolas is an immersive sensory journey where architecture, nature and art converge to create an experience that resonates with Ruinart's legacy of modernity and respect for nature.
This pavilion stands as a poetic intersection of design and heritage, offering visitors an unforgettable moment of discovery. Far from being nostalgic, the Nicolas Pavilion infuses a positive vision of the future and the responsibilities that bear upon us to ensure that the legacy will prevail.

For the metamorphosis of the historic Maison Ruinart, under the direction and vision of Frederic Dufour, Gwenael Nicolas took on the role of creating an interior space for exceptional experiences, within the stunning stone architecture designed by Sou Fujimoto, combined with the visionary landscape imagined by Christophe Gautrand, which foresees the next chapter of the prestigious Champagne Maison with 300 years of history.
