The Pleats Please store opened in Aoyama, Tokyo, in 2004, actualising the brand's requirement for a functional store design with a marketplace atmosphere in the area. With the exception of a drape covering one wall, Issey Miyake's fashion items are the only source of colour. Nothing distracts from the vibrant fashion in the minimalist space furnished with silver-grey and transparent acrylic fixtures. Taking advantage of a play on height, the pier, designed in the centre, is like a runway, offering an enjoyable shaky walk.
