AIMA was designed by Gwenael Nicolas and released from Conde House, a Japanese wood furniture maker based in Hokkaido. The design was based on the concept of “space”, as shown on the space created between structural elements. Aima investigates another aspect of Japanese sensibility is the quality of the notion of absence and how a missing element can create an emotional reaction. The collaboration opens-up new ideas on the construction process but also on defining typologies for different applications.
