RUINART PAVILION NICOLAS INTERIOR BY CURIOSITY

Ruinart, the oldest champagne house in the world, has announced that it will unveil a new pavilion in September 2024 to mark the 300th anniversary of its history. The pavilion will be located at its historic site, 4, rue des Crayères, Reims, where the remarkable history of the Maison unfolds. Gwenael Nicolas, CURIOSITY, has taken on the role of interior designer within the architecture designed by Sou Fujimoto, surrounded by the landscape design of Christophe Gautrand.

The contemporary pavilion, comprising a retail area, lounge, bar-restaurant and terrace, offers a variety of experiences for visitors with different expectations, in a beautiful dialogue between tradition and modernity, facing the historic building. Gwenael Nicolas says: "On this historic site, my task was to find the right balance between the history of this centuries-old house and a contemporary visitor experience. The visitor must immerse himself in the world of the house, discovering or guessing all its facets in a natural way. My aim is to guide them without imposing, while surprising them.”

The project also highlights the climate-friendly design process, in keeping with the Maison Ruinart's commitment to the environment. Situated in the heart of a wooded park, the pavilion opens a new chapter for the Maison, following the course of the day, the seasons and the weather.
