THE VILLA IN SHIBUYA
- THE PARKHOUSE GRAN KAMIYAMACHO
TOP

The Parkhouse Gran Kamiyamacho, the new residential project in which Curiosity has participated as a design partner for Mitsubishi Estate Residence and Tokyu Corporation, has emerged in a quiet and elegant area in Shibuya, Tokyo. Gwenael Nicolas expressed "Villa in Shibuya" in the design of this exceptional project, the 7th value residence in "The Parkhouse Gran" series, the flagship brand.

FACADE

Curiosity designed the façade and the interior of the public area, including the entrance and the corridor, which harmonises with the surrounding architecture, yet offers a green, organic atmosphere with woody louvres, expressing the villa in a natural garden.

APROACH

The entire public space is designed to stimulate the emotions of both residents and visitors. They walk along the spacious and curved path alongside the dynamic andon, which diffuses warm light with different expressions in day and night, creating imagination for the next scene with a deliberately hidden entrance.
Woody louvres, continuing from the façade, give residents the feeling of walking in a forest, creating an exceptional moment that transports them from the outside world to a relaxing living space.

ENTRANCE

The continuous louvres guide residents and guests into the entrance, finally revealing the next scene, the original garden, curated by Curiosity, which evokes traditional Japanese beauty with bamboo and real stone.

RECEPTION

DETAIL

The exquisite balance of vertical and horizontal line and proportion of each function creates tranquillity and warmth at the reception area.

ART

ARTLOUNGE

Another pleasant sight is the original artwork created by Reiko Sudo, a renowned textile designer. All scenes, including the artwork and gardens, are set at eye level when sitting in the lounge chairs, creating a completely relaxed atmosphere. The sequence of circular furniture brings a warm and relaxing atmosphere in the lounge space.

ELEVATORHALL

Another cosy space is created by the selected artwork, Shihoko Fukumoto's brush work, which provides a pleasant moment even while waiting for the lift.

CORRIDOR

Alcoves, ceiling design and carpet colour combination: thoughtful functions dividing the private and public naturally create the exquisite geometric pattern, which makes the entire space of corridor like a unique art installation. Random heights of vertical thin light also express day and night, giving the occupants a flow of daylight as if they were outside.

OUTSIDE

The subtle proportions of Villa in Shibuya will bring pleasure and relaxation to residents, visitors and even passengers and neighbours, in beautiful harmony with the elegant surroundings of this precious cityscape.
