During this year's Milano Salone, Gwenael Nicolas, CURIOSITY will introduce the installation, "SPARKS",
for SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL PALACE.
With "SPARKS" he has imagined a space where crystals are freed from the draw of gravity.
Flying crystals bounce into space and a stone suddenly becomes as weightless as air. Its materiality seems to disappear with only magical light remaining."SPARKS" consists of two pieces. The first piece appears to be almost a "non-object". Free-floating, transparent spheres inside a small floating crystal sculpture lit from within. With this piece "crystal and light become life." The second piece consists of a 10 meter long string of crystal that is programmed to set off more "sparks" which leap across the space.
